Hilary leads the work of the Ambition Institute, which helps educators to keep getting better so that the education system can ensure that every child thrives, whatever their background.  Hilary has held a range of senior positions in the Civil Service, including more than a decade at the Department for Education. She is a school governor, and helped set up a secondary school in Lambeth.
